Hogmany & New Year Pipers

For most Scots, Hogmanay remains one of the most important times of the year – a time when friends and family can get together to ‘see out the auld year’ and ‘see in’ the new. And wherever in the world Scots gather to celebrate Hogmanay, or wherever people want to celebrate the New Year in a traditional Scottish manner, there just has to be at least one piper leading the festivities.

Scottish Pipers are Scotland’s number one experts at providing top quality bagpipers and can supply you with solo pipers, small bands of between 4 and 6 pipers and 2 to 4 drummers, or even, for that truly unforgettable new year experience, a full size Pipe band.

If you are having a house party, imagine the impact a solo piper would have resonating through the rooms; he could even pipe in the New Year as the ‘first footer’.  If you run a restaurant or a hotel, an expert piper will give you that something extra to bring in customers from far and wide - and then totally satisfy their needs.

If you are organising a large outdoor event, a pipe band will be able to fill your arena with sound and spectacle.
As part of our standard service, a Scottish Pipers will, in the complete, colourful regalia, play Auld Lang Syne as the clock strikes midnight, ushering in the New Year.  He will then continue with a few lively Scottish tunes such as, perhaps, Scotland the Brave.  There is the opportunity, however, of adding additional pipe music earlier during the evening, perhaps piping guests into dinner, or playing a rousing selection when your band is having its break.  We will fulfil any requirements you want to make, as long as we are aware of them in advance.  For example, we can also provide you with a band for the rest of your evening’s entertainment – whether you’re looking for a ceilidh band or a string quartet.  Just let us know and we'll try and assist.

Obviously, Hogmanay is, alongside Burn’s Night, the busiest time of the year for our pipers and we are booked up many months in advance.  In order to be sure of obtaining exactly what you require for your perfect party, please try to give us as much notice as possible.  Obviously, we'll do everything we can to satisfy all our customers’ requirements, but the earlier you book with us for this special time of the year, the better it is for everyone.

The one thing you can be absolutely certain of is that, by having bagpipes at your New Year event, you will be starting the year in the traditional and indeed, the finest possible way.
